Well, technically ...those who are born here, are not immigrants.

The term in the U. S. Constitution about 'natural born' citizens ...is also a qualification for the President of our country, it seems, for the purpose of avoiding mixed loyalties.

My brothers, sister, and I ...all went to Michigan State University.  We all still cheer on the Spartans in collegiate sports ...yet, our degree of loyalty varies.  One of my brothers first met his present wife at college. Through the years, their home has been filled with Spartan paraphernalia ...and their children now go to Michigan State University.  All this is seemingly a result of two parents who graduated from the same college.

It is common to have loyalty to where we have come from.  Yet again, we can attempt to slant definitions and standards to mean what we want them to mean.  It would seem inaccurate for me to say, but I could see some residents of our country saying that a natural born citizen is one who comes about by a natural birth ...where the mom chooses not to use drugs to reduce pain or for the purpose of quickening the birth.

Speaking of birth ...whether natural, or perhaps assisted ---the question is not merely whether one was born one place or another. I would think the important question is somewhat more significant.

Everyone would want to enter the Land of Opportunity, I would think.  But, wouldn't it also matter what opportunity one would be seeking.

There are many types of opportunity.

There are opportunities to improve ourselves.

There are also those who are called opportunists ...waiting to advance their desires, irregardless of the effect or expense it has on others.

And we can speak of mere selfish desires, but that is not the end of the conversation.  Beyond that, there are those whom we do not question their loyalty so much ...we have much evidence that their loyalty is against our country.

I've seen documentation of people coming over the border, entering our country, to either make huge profits selling deadly drugs ...and others to involve in known terrorist activities.

The game of political correctness has moved from shaming those who refer to illegal aliens ...to ill-legal immigrants ...to renaming those as undocument-ed immigrants.

Speaking of ill-s and un-s, how do we view how we move from place to place --- illude ...illusive ...illusion.
Illiterate, illogical ...ill-advised ---are they grouped with equal connotations to illness??

How about un ---as in unlearned, uninformed, unaware, uncertain, unbeknownst, uneasy, unnoticed, un-liked, unsatisfied???   How would you describe yourself???

How about unwanted ...or unborn??

So, the more important question that I have left until now to ask is: What of the right to be born??

I don't fault anyone who wants to participate in the Land of Opportunity ...though there should be a fair screening process.

With compassion for those who want to enter our country ...how about those who want to merely enter this world??
